Last week was a really good professional week for me. Our Freedom to Read Week show went really well. Jason did this interview with Irvine Welsh (one of his favourite authors) and it went really well. If you listen through the whole hour you’ll also get my bookfight in which I defend Trainspotting against Martin Amis’ Money and a fun conversation about ebooks and the freedom to read them with Emily.
There’s also this Librarians Off the Radio episode which is a pile of my coworker librarians reading from challenged books. Emily is also all over this one, including doing all the uncredited 1984 readings that form our section headings.
I’ve said this before on here, but making radio is one of the best parts of my job these days. I’m hoping to make more. We’re hoping to pump up our production once our branch closes. It’s kind of cool to have institutional support for the cool shit we’re doing.
